To completely understand the motor management contract, the following descriptions must be fully understood by all parties involved:
NEW MOTORS (New Motors without a Trade-in)
These are Brand New EFF 2 (High Efficiency Category 2) Motors (Factory Built by Siemens), that have never been supplied to an End User, - nor connected and operated before, and are covered by a full one year manufacturers guarantee against faulty design and materials.
UPGRADE MOTORS (New Motors with a Trade-in)
These are Brand New Motors as described in 1 – Above, but are supplied in exchange for a completely assembled used motor of similar size or larger. These motors can be of any make, in any condition, provided the failed stator winding has not been removed.
SERVICE EXCHANGE
These motors are New Generation type Rebuilt Units, covered by a full one year repair guarantee, supplied in exchange for similar type failed motors, and will be invoiced as follows:
A - SERVICE ONLY
Motor needs repair, but no stator rewinding is necessary.
B - REBUILD
Motor needs repair, including a stator rewind.
GENERAL
As traveling should be kept to the absolute minimum, all “exchange” motors (2&3 above) must be ready for collection when the Upgrade or Service Exchange unit is delivered by Simotech.
Failed Service Exchanged motors will be assessed by Simotech to determine the repair required (Service Exchange A or B), and invoiced thereafter.
Standard guarantee excludes Motor failures due to Overload, Single Phasing, Ingress of water or mechanical abuse.
